For $39 we call the host or hotel in Chinese before you book or pay. We confirm the address, whether they can host a foreign guest and help with your accommodation registration, and ask your questions. You get the answers in writing within one business day. There's no visit.

Why does accommodation registration matter?

Foreigners in China must register their place of stay with the local police within 24 hours of arriving. Hotels usually do it for you; for apartments and homestays, the host or you must do it, so it's worth confirming the host will help.

Which long stays do you check?

Medical stays near a hospital or clinic, winters in places like Sanya or Dali, months near a factory for sourcing, and study or work stays. We check the apartment with a Property Check from $149.

Which cities can you visit?

Hunan now, including Changsha and Yiyang; Shanghai, Shenzhen, Sanya and Dali being added; others on request. The Foreigner Stay Check works anywhere in China because it's by phone.
